Preparing for Surgery

Your surgeon will review your medical history and schedule evaluations required by your insurance company for approval. These evaluations will vary from patient to patient.

The preparation stage is designed to evaluate and optimize not only your medical health but your mental health as well. Mental preparation includes understanding the process, knowing what to expect afterward and being ready to put in the hard work that comes after your surgery to begin a lifetime of weight loss and management.

Prior to surgery your doctor will go over last minute details, such as what you shouldn’t eat or drink before surgery, any medications you are taking and other necessary preparations.

I liked not having to go to another place to have my blood work, EKG and Chest x-ray done prior to surgery.

I enjoyed attending your Bariatric Support Group on Wednesday night. I learned so much from the speaker, as well as from other patients that were in attendance. It is nice being able to have this extended support system.

Just wanted to say Dr MacDonald is the greatest! I recently had gastric bypass surgery and I’m doing very good!

I purchased the fruit drinks and protein bars from your Nutricenter and they are delicious! So happy I can use these to get my daily intake of protein after surgery.
